Corporate Social Responsibility
As a business, BSE|Controls uses CSR to achieve better relationships with our customers and clients, as well as people in our local community. We also embrace CSR to amplify, rather than degrade, the society that we and future generations inhabit. This is further shown by BSE|Controls signing of the Building Service Engineers Declare pledge, which is a pledge signed by us to reduce both our and our client’s impact on the climate.
How We Practice CSR
At BSE|Controls, the implementation of our Corporate Social Responsibility can be broken down into three main categories:
-
Environmental
-
We encourage our team to reduce their printing. This is a simple action that can save resources by encouraging our employees to print only when it is necessary, allowing us to save paper and protect the environment. We also encourage our employees to do their mark-ups on a pdf, instead of paper, where possible, to minimise our paper use.
Our new office refurbishment has also helped to make our company setting more eco-friendly. Before we moved into our new office, we refurbished and replaced inefficient services to make the building more efficient. This included adding LED lights with motion sensors to save energy. We also improved our office by adding heat recovery ventilation and heat pump air conditioning, to accommodate the staff and visitors in our office, whilst enhancing the working environment.
Ease of access to public transport has also been introduced in our office relocation. Our office is a 7-minute walk from the train station, which can reduce emissions as employees now have the option to commute by bus/train. Public transport access is also convenient and fuel efficient for site visits and meetings with clients.
